Xero pricing in Australia (2026): plans and prices

Xero sells five main plans in Australia. Prices below are AUD per month including GST, and reflect Xero's price increase of 1 July 2026 and the launch of Xero Ultra on 7 July 2026. Full details are on Xero's pricing page.

PlanStandard priceWith Company123 (first 6 months)Payroll staff includedBest for
Ignite$37/month$0/month1Sole traders and new businesses with low invoice volumes
Grow$78/month$0/month2Sole traders and small businesses that invoice often
Comprehensive$107/month$0/month5Small teams; multi-currency or project tracking
Ultimate 10$143/month$0/month10Established businesses wanting Analytics Plus and more users on expenses and projects
Ultra$500/month$0/month10, then $2 each (max 200)Medium businesses with several entities and complex reporting

Xero also sells larger Ultimate tiers for more payroll staff: Ultimate 20 ($180), Ultimate 50 ($250) and Ultimate 100 ($300). Extra payroll employees beyond a plan's allowance cost $5 per person per month on Ignite to Ultimate.

Note on plan names: Xero's older Australian plans (Starter, Standard and Premium) were replaced by Ignite, Grow and Comprehensive. Ultimate sits above them, and Ultra was added in July 2026.

Xero Ignite: $37/month ($0 for 6 months with Company123)

Ignite is Xero's entry plan for sole traders and new businesses. It includes 20 invoices and quotes per month, entry of 5 bills per month, bank reconciliation, GST tracking and BAS lodgement to the ATO, receipt capture through Hubdoc, and payroll with automated super for 1 employee. The 20-invoice cap counts approved and sent invoices, so most active sole traders outgrow Ignite quickly.

Xero Grow: $78/month ($0 for 6 months with Company123)

Grow removes Ignite's transaction limits: unlimited invoices, quotes and bills, plus payroll with automated super for 2 employees. It is the usual choice for sole traders and small operators who invoice per job, because unlimited invoicing is typically the first feature a growing business needs.

Xero Comprehensive: $107/month ($0 for 6 months with Company123)

Comprehensive adds payroll for up to 5 employees, expense and mileage claims for 5 users, multi-currency across 50+ currencies, and project time and cost tracking. It suits businesses with 3 to 5 staff, or any business billing by the hour that needs to see project profitability.

Xero Ultimate 10: $143/month ($0 for 6 months with Company123)

Ultimate 10 includes everything in Comprehensive plus payroll for up to 10 employees, expense claims and project tracking for more users, and cash flow forecasting through Xero Analytics Plus.

Xero Ultra: $500/month ($0 for 6 months with Company123)

Ultra launched in Australia on 7 July 2026 for medium-sized businesses that have outgrown standard accounting software but do not need a full ERP system. It includes Syft Advanced consolidated reporting across up to 5 entities, scenario modelling and forecasting, priority support with access to a Xero expert, targeted data restores up to twice a year, and payroll for 10 employees then $2 per extra employee (up to 200). See Xero's Ultra page.

How much does the Xero promo code save?

The Company123 offer saves between $222 and $3,000 over 6 months, depending on the plan. Figures are AUD including GST, at Xero's prices from 1 July 2026.

PlanStandard price6 months at standard priceSaving with Company123
Ignite$37/month$222$222
Grow$78/month$468$468
Comprehensive$107/month$642$642
Ultimate 10$143/month$858$858
Ultra$500/month$3,000$3,000

For comparison, Xero's own new-customer offer is usually a percentage off for 3 months; in September 2026 it was 90% off for 3 months. On the Grow plan that saves $210.60, compared with $468 through Company123.

Comprehensive or Ultimate 10: which is cheaper for 6 to 10 employees?

On payroll cost alone, Comprehensive is cheaper for up to 10 employees. Comprehensive includes 5 payroll employees at $107/month, and each extra employee costs $5/month, so 10 employees cost $132/month compared with $143 for Ultimate 10. Choose Ultimate 10 if you need Analytics Plus forecasting or expense claims and project tracking for more than 5 users, not to save on payroll.

Who is the Xero discount best for?

The Xero discount suits Australian sole traders, subcontractors and small to medium businesses, and Ultra extends it to medium businesses with several entities. Common fits include:

  • Sole traders and freelancers: Ignite covers one-person operations with BAS and Single Touch Payroll for one.
  • Subcontractors and small crews: Grow handles unlimited invoicing and payroll for up to 2 employees.
  • Electricians: most pair Xero with ServiceM8 for job management.
  • Plumbers: most pair Xero with Fergus or Simpro.
  • Builders and construction businesses: Comprehensive or Ultimate, often integrated with AroFlo or Tradify.
  • Restaurants and bars: Comprehensive or Ultimate for payroll across larger rosters, with Planday for rostering.
  • Startups, eCommerce, retail and professional services: Xero connects to 1,000+ apps including Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, HubSpot and GoCardless.
  • Groups with several companies or trusts: Ultra's consolidated reporting across up to 5 entities.

What are the alternatives to Xero in Australia?

The main Xero alternatives in Australia are MYOB, QuickBooks Online and Reckon One. Entry prices (AUD per month) are:

SoftwareStarting priceWhere it fits
Xero$37 (Ignite)Broadest app ecosystem (1,000+ integrations); 100% off for 6 months via Company123
MYOB Business$35 (Lite)Closely matched to Xero on features; stronger inventory management
MYOB Solo$11Mobile-first plan for sole traders: invoicing, expenses and BAS for one person
QuickBooks Online$33 (Simple Start)Four plans from $33 to $125 (Advanced); unlimited invoicing on the entry plan
Reckon One$15 (Lite)Cheapest option; fewer integrations than Xero or MYOB

When Xero is not the best fit: side businesses and very early-stage sole traders with turnover under $20,000 may find Reckon One or QuickBooks Simple Start enough at a lower price. Sole traders who want a simple mobile app may prefer MYOB Solo. Businesses with complex inventory or manufacturing may find MYOB Business's inventory features stronger than Xero's.

Xero add-ons and extra costs

Xero plans are flat monthly prices. The main extra costs are:

  • Extra payroll employees: $5 per person per month beyond your plan's allowance ($2 per person on Ultra).
  • Analytics Plus: included in Ultimate; available as an add-on on lower plans.
  • Planday: workforce rostering, charged separately.
  • Moving up a plan: you can upgrade or downgrade at any time as your team grows.

Xero promo code FAQs

What is the best Xero promo code in Australia right now?

As of October 2026, the Company123 offer of 100% off for 6 months is the highest discount available on a Xero Australia subscription, since nothing can go below free. It covers Ignite, Grow, Comprehensive, Ultimate 10 and Ultra, and applies automatically through the Company123 partner link.

Does the Xero 90% off promo code still work?

The earlier Company123 offer of 90% off for 6 months was replaced on 14 February 2026 by the current 100% off for 6 months. Listings for "Xero 90% off" on other sites usually refer to that older deal or to Xero's own 3-month offer.

What is the best Xero EOFY discount?

The Company123 offer of 100% off for 6 months is available all year, including at end of financial year. Xero's own new-customer offers typically run for 3 months (90% off for 3 months in September 2026).

Does the discount apply to Xero Ultra?

Yes. The Company123 offer covers Xero Ultra, which is $500/month, so the 6-month saving is $3,000.

Can existing Xero customers use this discount?

No. The offer is for new Xero customers only: accounts that have never held a paid Xero subscription. Xero sets this rule for all its new-customer offers.

Which countries does the offer work in?

The offer is for Xero Australia.

Can I combine it with Xero's free trial?

Xero also offers new customers a free trial period. The 6-month discount applies with the 30-day trial period.

What happens after the 6 free months?

Your plan continues at Xero's standard price: $37 (Ignite), $78 (Grow), $107 (Comprehensive), $143 (Ultimate 10) or $500 (Ultra) per month, including GST. Xero is month to month with no lock-in contract, so you can change plans or cancel at any time.

Can I stack more than one Xero promo code?

No. Xero allows one promotional offer per account, so the Company123 discount cannot be combined with other Xero promo codes.

What is the catch?

The offer is for new customers only, lasts 6 months and then renews at the standard price unless you cancel. There is no minimum contract, no cancellation fee, and no requirement to buy bookkeeping or other services from Company123.

Can I switch from MYOB or QuickBooks and still get the discount?

Yes. Eligibility depends only on your Xero account history, not on software you used before. Xero provides conversion tools for moving data from MYOB and QuickBooks.

Which Xero plan should I choose?

Sole traders with low volumes usually start on Ignite ($37). Most small businesses choose Grow ($78) for unlimited invoicing and payroll for 2. Teams of 3 to 10 usually fit Comprehensive ($107), moving to Ultimate 10 ($143) for Analytics Plus. Businesses with several entities or complex reporting should look at Ultra ($500).

Is Xero worth it in 2026?

For most small Australian businesses, yes, particularly those running STP Phase 2 payroll, lodging BAS regularly or connecting other business apps. It is less worth it for sole traders with under $20,000 turnover and few invoices, who may find Reckon One, QuickBooks Simple Start or MYOB Solo cheaper.

Our view on this Xero deal

From working with Australian startups since 2014, we see Xero as one of the two default choices for businesses moving from spreadsheets to proper accounting software. It is not the cheapest option month to month, but the time it saves on BAS, invoicing and payroll usually outweighs the subscription.

Six free months is long enough to set up bank feeds, connect your accountant, integrate your other software and decide whether Xero suits your business before paying anything. If accounting software is on your shortlist, you can claim the Company123 Xero offer here.
